I enjoy working with cello students of all ages, from young children to adults. Lessons are tailored to each student’s experience, goals, and learning style, with an emphasis on clear guidance, steady progress, and musical expression.

As a professional cellist, my teaching is informed by years of performing experience, as well as in-depth study of the Dounis method—an approach to string playing that emphasizes natural physical movements and efficient technique through small, focused exercises, integrated with emotional vocal expression.

My cello lessons foster ease of playing, an expressive sound, and long-term comfort with the instrument.

Lessons also include creative work and clear practice strategies informed by current research on learning and skill development.

My cello students have included:

A six-year-old eager to play her favorite songs.

A teenager preparing for a school orchestra audition.

An adult classical music enthusiast, planning on joining an ensemble.

The cello’s wide range and expressive depth make it a powerful instrument for personal expression. It plays a foundational role in ensembles while also offering rich possibilities as a solo instrument.
